The Rules
Two qualifying attempts. Every player has one timed attempt on the 6×3 table and one on the 7×4 table.
Five-minute maximum. Each attempt starts after the player presses their table button and the 10-second countdown reaches PLAY.
Ten-ball clearance. Every attempt starts with 10 object balls plus the white cue ball. Pot any colour in any order — there are no assigned colour groups. The black must be potted last; pot it early and the attempt ends immediately with an automatic score of 5:00.
The button records the time. Once the black is legally down, run to your table's finish button. Your official time stops when you press it.
Ball off the table? You retrieve it yourself while the clock keeps running. Object balls are re-spotted; the cue ball resumes from behind the baulk line.
Final Six. Your two qualifying scores are averaged and the six lowest averages progress. Scores stay hidden while qualifying is live. During the Final Six reveal, each finalist's qualifying average is shown as they are announced — Finalist 1 of 6, Finalist 2 of 6 and so on. Once the winner is confirmed, the full qualifying leaderboard is shown.
The final. Qualifying scores are wiped. Each finalist gets one fresh attempt on the 7×4 table. Fastest successful final clearance wins £500.
Masons equipment only. Competition cues and equipment are supplied by Masons. Personal cues are not permitted.
Playing order & attendance
Your booking time is an arrival/check-in window, not a guaranteed playing time. Please arrive within your selected window and check in with the Masons team. The live screens show who is playing, who is next and which table to report to. If you miss a call, the system may move you down the queue. Your two qualifying attempts are deliberately separated through the evening.
Make a night of it. Shootout nights are open to the public, with a live DJ plus food and drinks available to purchase.
